Out of the Shadows Walk
Each year we walk together before dawn to remember those we've lost to suicide, and to bring their memory into the light.

What to expect
- 5:30am: gather at the Salty Crew Kiosk, Town Beach
- A short, guided walk along the beach to the Port Macquarie Amphitheatre
- A sunrise memorial ceremony with speakers and an honouring station
- A gentle close as the sun rises over the water
The 2026 commemorative t-shirt
Our Out of the Shadows t-shirt is a keepsake of the walk, and a quiet reminder to whoever sees it that you never walk alone. Every shirt sold funds a call to Lifeline’s crisis line: real support, for someone who needs it.

- Please allow up to two weeks, as stock is limited and shirts are made to order

The 2026 walk
Our community gathered at Town Beach before first light. Here is a little of how the morning went.
Getting there
Meet at the Salty Crew Kiosk, Town Beach, Port Macquarie. Street parking is available nearby. Please allow a few extra minutes to park and walk to the meeting point before 5:30am. Dress warmly and wear comfortable, flat shoes for walking on sand.
The walk is free and open to everyone. The date for our next walk is still to be confirmed. We’ll post it here and open registrations as soon as it is set. To hear about it first, call us on (02) 6581 2800.
Accessibility and support
This is a gentle, come-as-you-are event. Lifeline staff and support workers will be present on the morning. If you’re finding it hard to plan for, or have any questions beforehand, please reach out on (02) 6581 2800.
