Remembering our losses
The aftermath of a suicide can be devastating for families, friends and colleagues, and is often marked by confusion, anger, guilt, rejection and frustration.
Isolation and alienation can also feature for families, and they may struggle for years to understand why their loved one died so tragically.
Where we gather
Lifeline holds two non-denominational memorial services on the Mid Coast to remember those we have lost to suicide:
- Tall Ships Reserve, Tinonee
- Windmill Hill, Port Macquarie
Both are held in December, usually in the evening. All are welcome. You do not need to register, and you do not need to have used our services.

This year’s dates
- Tinonee: Wednesday 16 December 2026, Tall Ships Reserve
- Port Macquarie: Thursday 17 December 2026, Windmill Hill
Starting times are still being confirmed. Please get in touch or call (02) 6581 2800 and we’ll let you know as soon as they are set.
